Chapel of Change started in the hearts of Pastors Brian and Laura Warth and a small team. Commissioned by Pastor Dr. Larry Walkemeyer and Light & Life Christian Fellowship in North Long Beach, Brian and Laura started a small mid-week home Bible study. Soon it grew to over 100 people. Then on October 7, 2012, Chapel of Change launched its first Sunday worship experience in the City of Paramount with some 700 people in attendance.
Today, Chapel of Change is one church in five locations: Whittier, Paramount, Carson, Long Beach, and Merced. Pastor Brian preaches live at all Los Angeles County locations. Over 2,000 people have surrendered their hearts to Christ. Thousands have received the fresh hope of the gospel. Thousands of community service hours have been donated to beautify our communities. And tons and tons of kids are learning about King Jesus and his Kingdom.
We see a church that is radically diverse and radically reaches the lost. We see a church that brings down the Kingdom of God. We see a church that is a host for the Holy Spirit. We see a church that ministers deliverance and physical healing in the name of Jesus. We see a church that launches 1,000 churches to the glory of God. We see a church that leads people into the presence of God through worship. We see a church that impacts its communities with good works. We see a church that engages a hard nation.
A growing number of church leaders are longing for something more than just adding attendees to our services, programs to our churches, and begging week in and week out for volunteers. They long to see disciple-making-based kingdom multiplication. They long to become reproducing churches.
Exponential began wondering what it would look like to build a community of reproducing churches that cared more about WHO they were catapulting and sending forward than WHAT they were accumulating and leaving behind. That led to an inaugural list in 2019 of Outreach Magazine’s (as Outreach 100) list of 100 Reproducing Churches. And that community continues to grow.
