You all know what that physical church looks like in your local neighborhoods, but there has been a disruption in the church space and now digital-only churches are here. These churches, with no physical footprint, have been planted in digital communities like virtual reality, social media, and video games! With a rich (yet imaginative) ecclesiology, these churches have done a great job innovating for the kingdom, and ultimately reaching a different person than our physical buildings have reached.
In early 2019 Jason Poling had no knowledge, nor ever experienced, anything in the metaverse. Less than a year later his PNW Church Yuba City, supported by several volunteers, started a Campus in Virtual Reality that’s reaching and discipling people across the country. Learn how, by releasing control, Jason was able to multiply his church in the metaverse, and start to reach a different type of person that his buildings could not reach.
