Want to talk about big? The metaverse is already massive, and the majority of it has not even been released yet. And as big as the metaverse is, the theology of the metaverse is even bigger. The theology of the metaverse is hugely controversial, but if we’re honest, the idea of changes in the Church are not that controversial. It’s been quoted: “Today’s heresy is tomorrow’s orthodoxy,” and it appears the metaverse is a prime example of that.
When it comes to the metaverse, the Church is at a very interesting crossroads. How much influence does the Church want in the metaverse, and how much influence should the metaverse have on our churches? We’re bringing technology specialist Adam Graber into this conversation. Adam, who has been serving as the metaverse technology expert for Leadership Network, works as a digital theology consultant, helping FaithTech and other organizations develop a theology centered around this technology. What does the future hold for metaverse church? Theologically, does the metaverse hold up in its current state? Will our theology evolve over time as the technology solidifies? Join us to hear what Adam has to say.
Explore and understand the future of the metaverse church. We’ll examine aspects of the meta mission field, the Church in the metaverse, even what discipleship and multiplication can look like in the metaverse. Through the interviews hosted on Metaverse Church NEXT we’ll address the technical, theological, and tactical approaches that churches are wrestling with today in virtual reality, augmented reality, and even innovation in general.
