Q: What can I expect at the Speaker Village?
A: Its a retreat center owned by Saddleback Church with beautiful walking paths, a Spanish courtyard, and a historic adobe ranch house built in the 1800s, overlooking a serene lake surrounded by shady trees, weeping willows, and palms. The Ranch is a rustic setting that operates differently than a hotel, so please be mindful of the following:
Environment and Amenities : The information below is what Saddleback relays to those leasing the Ranch. Although we suggest you heed their advice, we have been at the Ranch for Exponential West for the last two years and have never had a reported encounter with wildlife. We’ve found it to be a beautiful, peaceful environment.
- We share this land with critters, including skunks, snakes, and furry friends. Please stay on designated walking paths, avoid walking around late at night, and keep your eyes open to your surroundings to avoid any wildlife.
- We discourage you from keeping open food/snacks in your room, as animals have been known to find them.
Please keep your room door shut at all times to avoid any uninvited furry guests or theft.
- All rooms are furnished with 2 queen beds.
- Guest in-room Wi-Fi is available. Select “Guest” and no password required.
- Take note of the emergency map near your back door in case of emergency evacuation.
- There is no daily room service available, so please hang your towels to dry during the day.
- In-room amenities include: towels, soap, bedding, iron and ironing board, and flashlight.
- Please bring your own toiletries such as deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, and hair dryer. Staff has these amenities on hand if you should forget to bring them. Contact Matthew Chormann @ 949-632-7443.
- There are no TVs/Refrigerators in the rooms.
- There are no meals provided at the Ranch.
- Water bottles and extra towels will be in the kitchen (building labeled “Dining Room” on map).
Q: What hours are the gates to the retreat center open / locked?
A: For the safety and security of our guests, the entrance gate to the Ranch will be locked from 12:00 midnight-6:00 a.m. If you are arriving after hours for check-in, or for any other reason, please call the emergency contact number listed above.
Q: Where do I park?
A: The Lakeside Lobby allows for check in parking only. When you arrive to check in at the Lobby, you’re welcome to take your bags to your room, and then we ask you to quickly park your car in Lot L (see map below). This will allow for additional car space as other guests arrive. For overflow parking, please park in Lot A. YOU WILL NEED THE ATTACHED PARKING PASS for Lot A (copy available to print out from PARKING PASS or pick up a copy in the lobby when checking in).
Please do not park in Lots F & G, as there are other church events happening at The Ranch.
Q: What is the Check-in process?
A: Rancho Capistrano Saddleback entrance is located off Camino Capistrano. After you drive over the railroad tracks and through the entrance, take the road to the first stop sign (see map below). Turn right at the stop sign and make an immediate left to the Lakeside Lobby. Please read the information about Parking in the next question below.
Check-in begins at 6:00 p.m. Please know that staff will not be on campus to welcome you outside of the times listed below. Should you arrive midday, go to the conference location (Mariners) and enjoy the conference because there will be no one at the Ranch to assist you with check-in. If you arrive later than the evening check-in times listed below, please call Matthew Chormann (Saddleback Staff) at 949-632-7443
