Joby Martin is the founder and lead pastor of The Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2012, through an unprecedented movement of God, Pastor Joby and a team of leaders successfully launched The Church of Eleven22 out of Beach Church in Jacksonville Beach. Since this time, he has led a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ that has grown to three locations serving over 8,500 people across thirteen weekly services with a fourth location opening in January of 2018. In addition to providing The Church of Eleven22 with vision and leadership, Pastor Joby is a national speaker who has spoken at Acts 29 conferences as well as at Expo East and West, Sticky Team East and West, NINES, and Velocity. He is also an active member of the Acts 29 church planting network. Born and raised in South Carolina, Pastor Joby has a Masters of Divinity and has been in full-time ministry for 20 years. He previously served as a youth pastor and then an executive pastor at Beach Church. Pastor Joby's wife, Gretchen, serves the church alongside him by writing music and singing with The Church of Eleven22's worship band. They reside in Jacksonville and have a son and daughter. Pastor Joby considers his life's mission to live out Acts 11:24, "for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." His passion is proclaiming the Gospel and seeing lives surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

HeroMakers

Think about the people who've invested in you and helped you become the person you are today. God puts just the right people, at just the right time, in just the right place, to speak just the right things into our lives. Most of us can name at least three hero-makers who've had a profound impact on who we've become.

Here's the cool thing... God intends for each of us to be hero-makers-- people who make heroes of others. Our greatest legacy in eternity will be measured not by what we've done, but instead by the people we've invested in. The key question is this... will we see ourselves as the HERO at the center of our story, or will we be the HEROMAKER of others at the center of God's story?

Multiplication starts in the heart of the leader. It starts with each of us surrendering the "hero complex" to a better way. It requires that we shift from being heroes to becoming hero-makers of others. We must put to death measures of success that require us to win, opting instead to assist others in winning.
