The following is a guest blog post by Keri Ladouceur, a Pastor at Vineyard Christian Church. Keri is one of our 50+ speakers at the Exponential Regionals this fall:
Kingdom Investments
Because my church leadership journey is ripe with people making significant investments in my leadership, I’ve always wanted to ensure the church culture we create is developmental. This has meant not just trying to find the most effective vision or the most efficient strategy for church growth, but has also been defined by getting as many people engaged as we can. It has meant giving away opportunities that I’d like to take in order to give someone on our team a new challenge.
For our church, it has also meant that we want to be intentional about providing opportunities for other people to use their gifts and grow their capacity. Our church gets to experience this and see it play out in a variety of ways from who we allow to help lead worship to equipping unpaid staff as bi-vocational ministry leaders in key areas of ministry across our church. This has also meant allowing young and developing communicators to come shape our community with their preaching gifts from time to time.
I’ve viewed this as our little way of giving back – of raising up the next crew of Kingdom builders, and our church has responded so well to opening our platform up for that. It was really fun until a woman I coach asked if we would ever let her come develop her preaching gifts by teaching a weekend at our church. We were thrilled to have her come teach even though I had to acknowledge our congregation might not want to listen to me again after getting to hear how anointed she is! Of course, she came and blew us all away!
We look forward to celebrating all that God does through her and were thrilled to get to play some small part.

Hero Maker Conferences
Hero Maker is the theme for Exponential 2018. The theme focuses on the shift from being the hero to coming alongside others for them to become the heroes in our church’s unfolding story. At each conference, we will unpack the 5 essential practices for leaders to multiply leaders: multiplication thinking, permission giving, disciple multiplying, gift activating, and kingdom building.
