Bernard Emerson is a proud native and lifelong resident of Oakland, California. He works closely with urban churches, coaching and equipping leaders to thrive in complex city environments. Driven by a deep love for his community and a clear sense of God’s call, Bernard partnered with Kyle Brooks to plant Tapestry Church in East Oakland. He is passionate about mentoring at-risk young men, building bridges of hope and restoration. In his free time, Bernard enjoys riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and cheering for his beloved Miami Dolphins. He and his wife, Kim, have been married for 30 years and have five children.
