Carl Johnson

Carl is a father, husband, youth mentor, and church planter. This was not
always his story; he was a member of the Five-Percent Nation, a large
group of Muslims started by Clarence 13X, that is vibrant in black
communities. Carl came to the confession of Christianity in 2010. Carl has
traveled to over 22 states and over 100 churches sharing the message, “ I
am crucified with Christ”. Carl has a mission to abolish food insecurity in
major cities starting with St. Paul believing that race and economic justice
is tied to food. Carl is a missional disciple-making practitioner multiplying
the message of disciple-making among the poor. He leads a multiplying
church in St.Paul that plants with social enterprises. He helped co-found
the Black Missional convening that spark movement and multiplication for
black missional practitioners.
He is on the directional team of Ethnos Global Network, a church planting
organization that plants in large cities next to universities. Carl has worked
with many movements and organizations to spark discipleship in global
cities such as India, Malaysia, Africa, and South America. He is passionate
about the Gospel and its redemptive story that can change the world.
Carl has developed multiple resources that help people start making
disciples and create ecosystems for change in their communities. He has
spoken at national conferences and gatherings that are cross-
denominational. His passion for disciple-making in the US is a belief that
movement can happen anywhere.
