Dr. Jarrett Stephens serves as Senior Pastor of Champion Forest Baptist Church in Northwest Houston, one of the largest and most diverse churches in America. Pastor Jarrett was previously the teaching pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where he began his ministry as an intern and eventually served single and married adults, oversaw the residency program, led mission trips, and launched the Prestonwood Network which plants churches around the country.
Jarrett serves on the boards of BridgeBuilders, Dallas Baptist University, and the North American Mission Board—reflecting his passions of spreading the life-transforming message of the gospel to the ends of the earth, serving the least of these in the inner cities, raising up the next generation of Christian leaders, and equipping churches to be on mission.
A native of Louisiana, Jarrett graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, with a bachelor of arts in biblical studies and psychology. He holds a master of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006 and a doctorate of ministry from Liberty Theological Seminary in January 2012.
Jarrett is the author of The Mountains Are Calling: Making the Climb for a Clearer View of God and Ourselves and The Always God: He Hasn’t Changed and You Are Not Forgotten, bringing a message of hope for chaotic seasons and difficult days. Jarrett and his wife, Debbie, have four daughters: Riley, Kelsey, Cameron, and Landry.
