Savaen is a dynamic and visionary leader with a rich and diverse background spanning travel and hospitality, chaplaincy, youth work, advocacy, community development, and ministry. She brings extensive experience in organisational leadership, training, and development.
Currently serving as the National Lead for Intercultural Mission Development with The Salvation Army, Savaen also contributes as an Advisor for Micah Australia, a sessional lecturer, and a leadership coach across a range of sectors. She provides professional supervision through SU Australia and holds governance roles in several not-for-profit organizations. Her commitment to collaborative leadership extends into volunteer roles with networks such as the Global Leadership Network Australia.
As someone from a refugee background, Savaen brings deep insight into the complexities of aid, development, and cross-cultural engagement. Her lived experience fuels her passion to equip and empower others – helping individuals grow in confidence, embrace their unique strengths, and make meaningful contributions in their communities.
She is currently pursuing a Master of Ministry Leadership and completing the Australian Institute of Company Directors course. Savaen is married and a proud mother of three teenagers. Together, their family enjoys the outdoors, travel, and exploring new cuisines.
