21 Questions to Ask Before Starting a New Church

“Ralph Moore is one of the most prolific church planters in our time. His 21 Questions draws on decades of his experience to offer a refreshing approach to building thriving, disciple-making churches. If you’re more interested in the impact of a disciple-making movement than simply growing a large weekend attendance, then this book is for you. You’ll find his insights as honest and encouraging as they are practical and insightful.” -Bill Couchenour

Less Spectacle, More Relational

In this book, Ralph Moore focuses on the importance of making disciples. Relationships are a fundamental, but lacking, part of the Church today:

The church that prevails in the future will be more relational, less of a spectacle, and more focused on equipping members for ministry. It will meet in micro as well as macro forms. Returning to caring about neighborhoods and apartment complexes will diminish the freeway church as a model. Coffee shops and the workplace will find their way into our planning sessions. In short, it will look more like the humble, often-persecuted church of the first two centuries than the glamorous church of recent history.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth, but we often have difficulty believing that. We build structures to help him do his job. Every person on the planet needs to trust God more, but when our consistent behavior seems to repudiate Jesus’ words, it’s worse than unbelief; it’s unfaith.

It’s time to remove the dark goggles of Christianized humanism and see the clear light of God in the people we disciple. Their relationships are more critical than their weekend attendance. I pray that this book brings new light to your eyes and greater faith to your heart. I’m hoping you become a bit more like those sons of Issachar, who understood the times and did the right things (1 Chronicles 12). My goal is to help you achieve greatness.

If this excerpt from page 9 of the book excites you, or challenges you to do more with your ministry, then you will enjoy reading the rest of this free resource.
