Derwin Gray is the founding and lead Pastor of Transformation Church (TC), a multiethnic, multigenerational, mission-shaped community in Indian Land, South Carolina, located just south of Charlotte, North Carolina. TC also has two campuses in South Carolina Correctional Institutions, Kershaw and Lee.
After graduating from Brigham Young University, Derwin played professional football in the NFL for five years with the Indianapolis Colts (1993-1997) and one year with the Carolina Panthers (1998).
In addition to his role at Transformation Church, Derwin speaks at conferences nationwide and is recognized by many as the “Evangelism Linebacker.” Derwin just completed his Doctor of Ministry in New Testament Context at Northern Seminary and has been awarded an honorary doctorate from Southern Evangelical Seminary.
Mark DeYmaz – A recognized leader in the Multi-ethnic Church Movement, Mark planted the Mosaic Church of Central Arkansas in 2001 where he continues to serve as Directional Leader. In 2004, he co-founded the Mosaix Global Network with Dr. George Yancey and today serves as its president, and convenor of the triennial National Multi-Ethnic Church Conference. In 2008, he launched Vine and Village and remains active on the board of this 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on spiritual, social, and financial engagement and transformation in Little Rock’s University District, the 72204 ZIP code.
Mark has written six books including his latest, Disruption: Repurposing the Church to Redeem the Community (Thomas Nelson, March 2017); and Multiethnic Conversations: an Eight Week Guide to Unity in Your Church (Wesleyan Publishing House, October 2016), the first daily devotional, small group curriculum on the subject for people in the pews. His book, Building a Healthy Multi-Ethnic Church (Jossey-Bass, 2007), was a finalist for a Christianity Today Book of the Year Award (2008) and for a Resource of the Year Award (2008) sponsored by Outreach Magazine. His other books include, re:MIX: Transitioning Your Church to Living Color(Abingdon, June 2016); Leading a Healthy Multi-Ethnic Church (formerly Ethnic Blends, Zondervan, 2010, 2013), and the e-Book, Should Pastors Accept or Reject the Homogeneous Unit Principle? (Mosaix Global Network, 2011). In addition to books, he is a contributing editor for Outreach Magazine where his column, “Mosaic” appears in each issue.
Mark is an Adjunct Professor at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and teaches D.Min. courses at seminaries across the country including TEDS, Western, and Phoenix, where he earned his own D.Min. in 2006.
K.J. Scriven – Hailing from North Carolina, K.J. Scriven’s strong but sincere message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ demonstrates that he uses all of his heart, soul, and his guitar to invoke worship and righteous living to all generations. Not only is K.J. an artist, but he serves as Music Director at Transformation Church under the leadership of Pastor Derwin Gray. An incredible song writer, as it shines through in his music, KJ is a Grammy-award winning songwriter, having 10 song placements on national recording artist projects.
Above it all, KJ loves God, his wife Kira, daughter Allyson Grace, family and his Carolina sporting teams. KJ’s primary mission is to provide resources and training to churches, worship teams and worship leaders in Biblical, Multi-Ethnic, Multi-Generational worship through music.
Oneya Fennell Okuwobi is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology studying race and religion at The Ohio State University. Oneya’s research interrogates how diverse organizations impact racial inequality. Along with her husband, Oladele, Oneya is founding elder of 21st Century Church, a church plant in Cincinnati, OH. She is co-author of Multiethnic Conversations: An Eight-Week Journey toward Unity in Your Church. Drew Hyun is a Church Planter and Pastor of Hope Church Midtown, as well as the Founding Pastor of Hope Church NYC, a family of diverse churches in NYC and the Co-Founder of the New City Network, a network of urban churches. He has spent the last 16 years living and pastoring in New York. He loves cities, ESPN, and naps, and finds it a restful Sabbath when all three come together. He resides in New York City with his lovely wife Christina and their two children, David and Avery. Drew is the author of no books.
Santes Beatty serves as the Multiethnic Multiplication Catalyst for The Wesleyan Church as well as the Pastor of Mosaic Midtown Church in Detroit Michigan. He has a passion for seeing discipleship and multiplication happen for all people groups that cross cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender and generational lines in the Wesleyan Church. Santes is the founder of Crossover Consulting and one of the organizers of the Call and Response Conference. Mosaix Global Network brought him on several years ago to serve as one of their coaches, and he has been a presenter for Exponential in the past. Prior to these roles he was a Youth Pastor and Teaching Team Member at Kentwood Community Church (MI) and Genesis Baptist Church (NC) in both multiethnic and predominately black contexts for almost 20 years. He also has been the Director of Multicultural Services and African American Affairs at Guilford College, where he received his undergraduate degree and has a Masters in Ministry Leadership from Huntington University. His current role merges his passion for community organizing, racial reconciliation, justice and diversity with discipleship and multiplication. He has Level 1 and 2 certifications in Cultural Intelligence Training and Assessment as well as in Unconscious Bias from the Cultural Intelligence Center. He is a much sought after trainer and speaker related to organizational leadership, racial reconciliation, diversity, youth and multiethnic ministry. He and his wife Nicole have five children (Tesia, Christian, Josiah, Serenity and Sarah) with their Golden Retriever, Camille, and currently reside in Detroit, MI.
