A Living Legacy

Discipling Church Planters

FREE

“What you get saved into is more important than what you get saved out of.” These words have rung loudly in Chris Wienand’s story. He was discipled into a journey in which he and the others with him believed they could impact the nations through church planting. That journey put a spin on discipleship that deeply fashioned his life. In Genesis, Adam and Eve were called to increase, multiply and fill the earth. Jesus, in turn, provided Himself as a model for discipling others who would launch out on an epic, God adventure and see nations touched with this glorious Gospel. This mandate got lodged in Chris heart and has fashioned 30 years of ministry. A Living Legacy is that story.

Chris Wienand
Chris Wienand is a born-and-bred South African who has planted and pastored two successful churches (one in Durban, the other in Los Angeles). He now travels the world giving insight, vision and inspiration to church and business leaders. While studying for a history degree, Chris came to faith during South Africa’s Jesus People movement in the 70s–a time of much growth and spiritual passion, with a matching fervor for church planting. This seed grew as he planted a church in Durban, South Africa, in the early 80s that became a hub for church planting and training church planters. After leading that church for some 13 years, a move to Los Angeles came as a God surprise. However, the value of walking through a church replant was met with continuing church planting from this new base. After leading this church replant for some 14 years, Chris now partners with church plants, church replants and large churches becoming movements, empowering them on their journey. He also collaborates globally with other church planting teams to forge new Gospel frontiers.
