Video: K.P. Yohannan

K.P. Yohannan

In this video, Gospel for Asia Founder and Director K.P. Yohannan candidly shares the stories of his life and others’ that have shaped his 64 years to date—35 of which have been spent in ministry focused on discipling others to become like Christ.

His is a venerable voice with much to say to the American Church and its leaders:  “America is a land in darkness where life is divorced from knowledge. If you read the New Testament and Jesus’ call to be like Him—and then consider that all of His disciples suffered persecution and lost their lives to reproduce people like Jesus in answer to that call—you realize that the greatest problem is that we have translated knowledge about Jesus to mean discipleship. When we talk about multiplication, we’re not talking about passing out gospel tracks, but living a life that embraces suffering so that we become like Jesus and reproduce others like us. You cannot separate life from ministry, and you cannot reproduce anything other than what you are.”

Yohannan will be part of the upcoming National Discipleship Forum at Exponential West. The Forum, also including Francis Chan, Jim Putman, Bill Hull, Jeff Vanderstelt and Robert Coleman, will focus on personal discipleship, exploring six areas of a discipleship lifestyle: Jesus, intentionality, relationships, the Bible, the journey and multiply.

Key highlights:

  • Candid account of Yohannan’s faith crisis and how realizing the truth of God’s Word changed his life and birthed his ministry
  • Profound stories of everyday people and their sacrificial examples of what it means to live the life of Christ
  • Yohannan’s insightful reflections on the Great Commission
  • Highlights of a recent study time with Francis Chan and Chan’s exploration of Isaiah 6
  • How Yohannan’s mother’s life, prayers and death have impacted him and countless others she longed to see live for the gospel. (Don’t miss this beautiful story!)
