Big Idea and Overview

The Brook is a media to movement model that raises up disciples who start micro churches. Most people use instagram and online platforms for vanity’s sake or to throw up an advertisement for an event, but we thought, what if we used Instagram for what it was originally intended? A networking and connecting space, where we could then usher people offline into personal relationships and see a movement started that way…and that is exactly what we have been able to do.Since then we have expanded our media reach to our Brook app which has over 2500 downloads, and our website.

Customer / Mission Field Context

At The Brook we target young professionals, living in cities, between the ages of 21-39. Young people are moving to cities more than ever and in Denver in particular, over 50 percent of the city is between the ages of 22-40 years old. Cities also often tend to be one of the loneliest places. After some investigating, we realized most young adult ministries are heavy on targeting people right out of college, in which those even in their mid 20’s felt out of place. So many people coming into The Brook now share how thankful they are for the age range. Our primary target is singles, but we still have quite a few couples who join the Brook or better yet, many who are dating or found their spouse through The Brook and have gotten married!!!

Results and
Impact

Over the last 3 years, we have got to engage with 6300 people through our digital platforms, which has led to 3000 people attending our events and getting connected to an individual and community, and from that we have got to see 500 people get involved in a discipleship community which we call our simple churches.
