The last few months of shifts to a new normal have been challenging. We are all rethinking how we measure success in these uncertain times. And, we are encouraged at how our Exponential community is pivoting and continuing to advance the mission of multiplication!
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the timing of a number of strategic initiatives for our Exponential team to continue to serve our church planters, pastors, and leaders. We made a shift to an “Online Community and Conference” approach until leaders are routinely traveling again — and we believe that reimagining what the future could look like will result in us reaching even more people and engaging them in deeper conversations about multiplication.
We took what was originally our Boise Regional Conference and turned it into the new Exponential Online Community and Conference, in partnership with the Multiplication Networks in Boise. This six-week “online community with a conference” offered more resources than a normal in-person conference for church leaders and a new way to gather our multiplication community. The Online Community featured daily resources and events from more than 15 nationally recognized speakers, live office hours with Kingdom leaders, a free 2020 Digital Access Pass with content from our global conference in Orlando, and additional resources for church teams.
As part of this pilot experience, we invited our attendees to help shape the future of conferencing with us as we gathered in our virtual facility for multiple weeks and then came together for the 1.5-day online conference on June 23-24.
The June 23-24 Online Conference featured 12 Equipping Labs focused on topics such as:
- Developing a Healthy Leadership Culture that Leads to Multiplication
- Outreach in the New Normal
- Is Your Leadership Limiting Your Church to Addition?
- The Keys to Lowering Costs on your Next Building or Remodel Project
- Your Done-For-You Church Entity & 501(c)3 Formation
- Discipleship that is Reproducible
- The Three Dimensions of Multiplication
Over the course of five Main Stage sessions, online attendees heard from incredible Kingdom leaders discussing all the aspects of Exponential’s 2020 Together theme:
- Together with God: Dave Ferguson, Aubrey Sampson, and Dr. Efrem Smith
- Better Together: Jamie Taylor, Jon Ferguson, and Daniel Fusco
- Going Into All the World Together: Adam Weber, Robert Frazier, and Eugene Cho
- Together – Not Like You: Bryan Dwyer, Jeff Vanderstelt, and Jim Putman
- Let’s Get It Together: Richie Shaw, Keith Waggoner, and Léonce Crump
Each Main Stage session was followed by a live Q&A with the Main Stage speakers; the last session was followed by a time of live prayer and commissioning.
